For those who may have taken their classroom and pool sessions elsewhere, we offer a open water training dive referral program. We conduct our dives in the Cuyuna Mines located just 10 miles east of our Brainerd store. Cuyuna offers some of the best diving conditions in the Midwest. The visibility is usually in the 30 to 50 ft. range and water temps get into the high 70's in July and August. We use a series of different platforms throughout the mines, but all are positioned above the first thermocline to take advantage of the warmer water. There are many inquisitive fish that hang around the platforms, and they seem to enjoy watching students complete their open water training skills.

Items Needed for Class: 

• All scuba equipment

  • If rental equipment is needed, referral divers would be responsible for any equipment charges - although we only charge for a one day rental which will cover both days of the training dives. 

• Referral Form from shop that did your pool session

• Swimsuit & towel

How to Sign Up: 

Call or stop in the MSD Brainerd location to place your $50 deposit towards class tuition to hold your spot in the checkout dives. Schedules for checkout dives include weekday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons but are not posted online as they are scheduled based off instructor availability,
