Downaway  (Feigh)
Worth every bit of the huffing and puffing to get back up the hill after the dive.  Most often visited by those looking for either clear deep water or those wanting to check out the mine drift (horizontal shaft) at 110feet, which we highly recommend.  This drift is the largest in the pits and really is impressive.  In 2003 we noticed that part of the ceiling caved in which reduced its size a bit.  We can not stress enough that these mine shafts/drift are not stable and should NEVER be entered.

The wall at Downaway is very impressive.  If you like wall diving this will take your breath away (or at least the hike back up the hill with your gear will).  At some spots the different minerals in the wall show through and you can see color variations in the rock.  Plan your dive here for mid afternoon.  The direct sunlight is a huge plus.

Feigh also has some excellent shallow diving.  With lots of trees and huge amount of fish this site has lots to offer.  Also with no camping nearby you often only have to share this site with a fisherman or two casting from shore.
