Atlantis (Mahnomen I)

It is somewhat difficult to get to this site.  This site can handle no more than two vehicles.  Conditions are very cramped for vehicles but the gearing-up area is quite comfortable for the diver.  The gearing-up area is on the shores of the Eagle Beach dive site while the Atlantis dive site is across the roadway and in the waters of Mahnomen I.  Diving to the West you will encounter a gentle sloping terrain with few features.  Diving to the East you will experience huge timbers and fallen trees.  Straight out from the entry point is a rising berm from the bottom of the pit.  On the outside of this berm is a drop that will take you to some culverts and heavy timbers – remnants of mining days gone by.

Entrance Pick your spot of entry but a sometimes good one is about 33 paces to the East of the gearing-up area.  It is always a difficult entry/exit.
